Katrina Kaif , Shahid Kapoor receive Rajiv Gandhi National Award

Shahid Kapoor and Katrina Kaif are amongst the recipients of 12th Rajeev Gandhi National Awards for their acting skills. Both are at the best phase of thier career and felicitating with prestigious award like Rajiv Gandhi National Awards at this high point is like more than anyone would ask for.The award ceremony took place on Wednesday at the National Centre for Performing Arts, Mumbai.

The eminent personalities were honored in a grand manner in the ceremony and it was attended by many personalities from different walks of life which added glamour to the event. The ceremony saw the performance of ace dancer Hrithik Roshan, Priyanka Chopra, Esha Deol and many others. Composer Vishal Shekhar also performed during the award eve.

The Rajiv Gandhi Foundation distributed Rajeev Gandhi National Awards to recognize the excellence achieved by Indians in different fields.

Priyanka Chopra slams Kareena Kapoor

Priyanka Chopra seems to be angry with Kareena Kapoor’s recent comments against her and Shahid Kapur. At an event recently, Priyanka slammed Kareena’s statements about her relation with Shahid Kapoor. Kareena had earlier stated that Shahid-Priyanka relation is a publicty stunt for their upcoming flick-Kaminey.

Priyanka said, “Kaminey is directed by Vishal Bharadwaj and produced by an established film corporation, it has Shahid Kapoor in a double role, and me as an Maharashtrian woman. It definitely doesn’t need anyone else or anything else to get it publicity. Thank you, but no thank you!”

It seems that Priyanka-Kareena rivalry is rally heating up. One has to wait and watch who emerges the winner!

Shahid turns losses cool over Priyanka-Gerard relation

Shahid Kapur’s love-life seems to be in a mess.First he was dumped by the hot Kareena and the actor is finding it tough to keep up his relation with Priyanka Chopra who is showing much interest for Hollywood macho Gerard Butler. Struggling for Piggy’s attention at a bash thrown in the honour of Gerard, Shahid lost his cool as his lady blushed at the flirtatious advances made by Gerard.

Shahid and Priyanka have both denied all rumours of a reported love affair, but a recent fight between the two has once again demonstrated that they might be more than just good friends. Though Shahid and Priyanka maintained a sober chemistry at the bash thrown for Gerard, the real fireworks happened after the party.

Post party the couple had a spat courtesy Gerard’s overtly friendly acts, following which the couple did not show up at Shah Rukh’s Bash for Butler. Shahid not only showed his anger for the Gerard episode but also peeved with Priyanka for being in talking terms with Hurman.

But if Shahid believes that Priyanka is going to take his temper, he may be mistaken as Piggy has confessed to near and dear ones that Shahid doesn’t feel her type now.

Priyanka Chopra get cozy with Gerard Butler

Latest news has it that the dashing Hollywood actor Gerard Butler has flown down to Jaipur. Co-incidently Priyanka Chopra is also in Jaipur currently. The actress is shooting for Ashutosh Gowarikar's “What's Your Rashee?”

There had been talks in the past about a possible link up between Priyanka and Gerard Butler. Now Gerard came to India a couple of days ago with four friends. But he landed at Jaipur on Tuesday and spent the entire day on the sets of “What's Your Rashee?” Later, they dined together and are also staying at the same hotel - Shiv Vilas.

Gerard had first met Priyanka in November 2008 at the inauguration of Atlantis -The Palm, in Dubai and they have been good friends ever since. They were also spotted having a good time together at a party hosted by Shah Rukh Khan. Apparently, they are spending a lot of time with each other.

Gerard, quite a ladies man, has been linked to many beauties, including Cameron Diaz, Jennifer Aniston and Naomi Campbell.

Shahid gets high on romance with Priyanka

After he broke off with his ex-girlfriend Kareena, Shahid Kapoor is now dating his newly found love Priyanka Chopra. He is seen with her every where. The actor recently booked the entire upper floor of a café to spend some quality time alone with Priyanka. They were spotted at a suburban café totally engrossed in each other.

For quite sometime now, their link up have been grabbing headlines. They are often spotted hanging out together since they have started working in ‘Kaminey’. Whenever Priyanka is with Shahid, he can be seen making all efforts to make her feel comfortable.

Well, it is really refreshing to see Shahid finally getting over his ever so popular link-up with Kareena Kapoor.

Harman Baweja bashes up Shahid Kapoor

Harman Baweja is thought to be a very calm guy but it was not so when the person in question was his ex-girlfriend Priyanka Chopra. Harman was keeping a low profile to hide his pain as the entire film industry took pleasure in discussing the Priyanka-Shahid love affair.

But he could not take it any more and on Tuesday evening barged onto the sets of his ex-ladylove’s latest flick-Kaminay to bash up Shahid Kapoor for obvious reasons.

Harman had a one on one with Shahid Kapur and also hurled abuses at Shahid. All this happened while Priyanka was getting dressed in her vanity van.

Priyanka ran out after hearing a commotion and ordered Harman to leave the sets immediately. Harman requested Priyanka to keep out of the matter. But Priyanka stood by beau Shahid and asked Harman to get lost and mind his own business.

A deeply saddened Harman left the scene immediately thereafter.

For all those who thought Harman had the guts to bash Shahid up, hang on.

Shahid Kapoor dances to the tune of Jiah Khan

Choreographing Shahid Kapur is a dream for most dance-directors. But for an actress it could mean much more. Well, this actress, who is flying high with the super success of 'Ghajini', has a chance to do so. Yes she is none other than the super sexy Jiah Khan. She is playing a choreographer in her next movie opposite Shahid Kapur.

Jiah, however, is not a novice at dancing. She has done quite of bit of dancing herself. "It's funny. I am playing a choreographer and training Shahid to dance. He is such a fantastic dancer, so teaching him is a tough job. He is rather telling me how to do some steps on the sets!" says Jiah.

The movie, being directed by Ken Ghosh, is about a dancer and his journey as a person. Shahid plays the protagonist while Jiah plays his romantic lead. The film is currently under production.

Shahid's Bollywood Story Till Date

Shahid Kapoor danced his way into hearts with his dashing dancing style in Ken Ghosh’s Ishq Vishq Pyar Vyaar . Back then, his style was compared to veteran actor Shammi Kapoor. Is that the reason why Shahid, who is playing a dancer in Ken Ghosh’s next, wants to name the flick as Yahoo ? There is more to Shahid’s Yahoo story.

According to a unit member there is a lot of confusion about the title of this movie. Shahid plays a dancer in the film for which he will be sporting a new look and he feels the title Yahoo will be apt. He is not happy with the title Star and is keen to replace it with Yahoo . When asked about it Shahid said, “Actually we haven’t fixed the title yet. Yahoo is one of the titles we are considering. We will wait a bit before we take any decision.”

Shahid has his reasons for supporting and suggesting Yahoo as the title, he says, “The title Star has been suggested by UTV, but I don’t think it will be the final title. UTV is coming out with a magazine of their forthcoming project and hence the title. But everyone feels that we should change it, so Star is just a tentative title as of now.”

Yahoo had become synonymous with Shammi Kapoor when he gave a storm of a performance in his super hit film Junglee . The word ‘Yahoo’ turned lucky for Shammi Kapoor and established him as a great actor and dancer in the industry. We hope that Shahid’s Yahoo story turns out to be lucky for him too.

Rajshri Production's Next-Ek Vivaah Aisa Bhi

Very few producers incorporate inputs from the crew of the film. So we were pleasantly surprised when Barjatya invited the entire cast and crew of his film, Ek Vivaah Aisa Bhi, for a special screening, and asked for their opinion on the film.

According to our source, the film was screened at a private theatre in Rajshri Production’s office at Prabhadevi. The entire cast and crew were given a note-pad and a pen to jot down their observations and opinion.

Our source adds, “Before the screening began, it was announced that everyone must note their suggestions, and if they were found suitable, they will be incorporated in the film.”

When contacted, Barjatya said, “Yes, we took our crew’s opinion. We also did a similar exercise once the script of the film was finalised. At Rajshri we believe that it is vital to take everyone’s opinion, be it an assistant or a technician.

As a producer, I should know if the film has touched people’s soul or not. What could be a better way of finding this out? I tell my crew honestly that I want to hear their opinion, and they give me an honest feedback.

If I did not consider my crew’s opinions after asking them for it, then all I will get will be sugar-coated lies. We are all together to make a good film and my crew understands this.”

Speaking about the changes done so far in Ek Vivaah Aisa Bhi, Barjatya says, “One editing error was pointed out by a technician, we have now corrected it.

As a result of another technician’s observation, one scene has more background score now. The will be many more changes by the time the film finally releases around October-November.”

Barjatya goes a step further. According to him the families of the cast and crew will also get to watch the film so that “we can gauge how much the film will appeal to the entire family, or to our female audiences.”

Ek Vivaah Aisa Bhi is directed by Barjatya's assistant Kaushik Ghatak and stars Sonu Sood and Ishaa Koppikar.

Shahid finds a Solemate

The question doing the rounds of Bollywood is: are Shahid Kapoor and Vidya Balan a couple?

The film industry would like nothing better than a romance between them. But reports of the handsome Shahid and pretty Vidya being seen together were dismissed by him as, “We had just gone out for lunch. I go with other friends too.” Now, the two stars who are coming together in Aziz Mirza’s Kismet Konnection, talk to BT about their relationship.

“Vidya is my co-star and we are good friends. But this isn’t your Bollywood kind of good friend. I mean, she’s a nice girl, a fantastic co-star and one of the many friends I have,” said Shahid playing safe. “Incidentally, Sania Mirza is also a friend and we meet, but there’s no romance. I guess I’m an easy target because I’m single.”
The thumping success of Jab We Met has put Shahid back on his feet. “At 27, filmmakers like Vishal Bharadwaj, Yash Chopra, Ken Ghosh, and my dad Pankaj Kapoor are making films with me in the lead, I cannot ask for more,” said Shahid who is looking forward to acting with actresses his age like Deepika Padukone, Sonam, Priyanka Chopra and Katrina.

Vidya, who has also been asked about their relationship, is guarded. “I’m scared of saying anything,” she said, “We worked together for 60 days in Toronto and I’m fond of Shahid, but he’s just as a friend.” Reacting to comparisons between them and Shah Rukh Khan and Juhi Chawla, who were regulars in Mirza’s earlier films like Yes Boss and Raju Ban Gaya Gentleman, Vidya said, “I, too, would like to have an onscreen pairing with Shahid like Juhi had with Shah Rukh, and hopefully people will say the same thing about us a few years down the line.”

Kismet Konnection, not surprisingly, is about love and finding one’s soul mate. But Shahid said he finds a soul mate even in his dog Keizo. “Soul mates need not be only about lovers. I feel a strong connection with my dog. He is my soul mate. He knows what saddens me and what makes me smile. He doesn’t disturb me when I need my space, but he is there. He even puts me to sleep,” said the lover boy giving new meaning to man’s best friend.

Kismet Connection - A Pyar Bhari Twisted Kahani

Actor Vidya Balan has been in the news for several wrong reasons, but she is going to make all the wrong right it seems. "As long as my work isn't ridiculed," says the actor, reacting to comments made on her bad sense of fashion.

Anyway, if what unit members of Kismet Connection say about hers and Shahid Kapoor's chemistry is to be believed, we may just be writing about B-wood's next big hit jodi . This good on-screen chemistry has translated into an off-screen alleged link-up. And while Vidya insists that love is still to happen to her – someone like George Clooney may just make it happen – news of Shahid's non-stop gupshup on the phone with Sania Mirza is catching many eye-balls.

So while most swore that love bloomed between Shahid and Vidya in Toranto, their tales in Mumbai nagariya aren't quite the romantic sorts. How boring! Shahid Kapoor to have a New Look

While actors are at their experimental best these days, Shahid Kapoor will not be left behind. After his stellar performance in Jab We Met, the actor is super-charged and willing to go any distance to get into the skin of the character.

Shahid, we hear, will be opting for a new long-haired look for his upcoming project, a musical, to be directed by Ken Ghosh. It can be remembered that it was Ghosh's debut film Ishq Vishq that also marked Shahid's Bollywood beginnings. Ken and Shahid, then got together again for Fida, a film that also starred Fardeen Khan and Kareena Kapoor.

When we got in touch with Ken to find out more about the UTV venture, he confirmed, "Yes, we're working on the project and Shahid is indeed going to look a bit different. He's working on his physical appearance and will do as the character and script demands."

While Ken refuses to divulge any further details, we learn that this is a musical more on the lines of the larger than life Broadway musical. About Shahihd's long hair, well, the actor had first sported long hair for a TV commercial of a soap detergent way back in 2001. So much for hair raising stories?
