Brett Lee enters Bollywood

Australian cricketer Brett Lee is all set to enter Bollywood with the movie “Victory”, starring Harman Baweja in the lead role.

Besides Brett Lee, a handful of other cricket players like Australians, Brad Hogg, Stuart Clarke and Mike Hussey and Indians, Yusuf Pathan, RP Singh and Pravin Kumar have cameos in the film.

Harman Baweja plays the role of a small town boy who makes it big in the world of cricket and Brett Lee plays himself who helps Baweja’s character achieve his dreams.
On working with newcomer Harman Baweja, Lee says it was a whole new experience. “It was a lot of fun. We helped each other out throughout the movie. I taught him a few shots while he gave him me acting tips,” he recalls.

Apart from claiming wickets, Lee shares a passion for music. In the past he did a song and music video for legendary singer Asha Bhonsle’s album.

Next on the anvil, Lee is adding finishing touches to a music video. “There are six to seven songs in Hindi and in English in the album. I had been working on it with friends for the last six months,” he reveals.

Brett Lee showcases his tallent as a radio jockey and guitarist

One of the fastest bowlers in the history of cricket - Australian speedster Bret Lee - bowled a different one here Thursday when he played a few musical notes at a local FM radio station here. The popular Australian fast bowler donned the hat of a radio jockey at the FM station for nearly 15 minutes.

He also played a composition on the guitar - a pastime he enjoys to indulge in.

Sporting his “Kings XI Punjab” red T-shirt, Lee seemed completely at ease at the radio station even after he had spent a few hours practicing at the Punjab Cricket Association stadium at Mohali, 10 km from here.

The home team, Kings XI Punjab, owned by Bollywood actress Preity Zinta and her industrialist boyfriend Ness Wadia, face Mahendra Singh Dhoni-led Chennai Superkings in their first encounter here Saturday.

Brett Lee's bollywood connection

While India might be wondering how well Team India will take on the Aussies Down Under, the series will hold a special significance for that other Indian obsession, Bollywood.

Yes, Victory, a movie about the rags to fame story of an Indian cricketer, will have portions shot at the Adelaide Oval, the Sydney Cricket Ground and the Melbourne Cricket Ground.
Starring newcomer Harman Baweja and directed by Ajit Pal, the film will also feature some Australian stars, like paceman Brett Lee.

Now, if we could only recollect just who this Harman Baweja is?
