Narmada - another star daughter to hit silver screen

NarmadaGovinda’s daughter Narmada will be facing the camera soon and that too with a home production. According to Govinda, Narmada will be launched anytime in 2009.The directors on Govinda's wish-list are Nikhil Advani and Shaad Ali.

While focusing on his daughter's career Govinda has also taken some hard career decisions for himself. "Six of my releases are ready. But now, after my so-called comeback I've again stopped signing new films. After working with Mani Ratnam I can't go back to doing chalta hai roles in routine films. I'll work only with directors who are as organized and disciplined as Mani Ratnam. He's clear-headed about everything."

The actor says further, "for now, I'm focusing on giving my daughter the best career launch any father can give."

Hats Off-Amisha

After a long hiatus, Amisha Patel’s career is on the upswing again with Thoda Pyar Thoda Magic.
And more than anything, she’s excited about the film because she is going for a complete makeover in this film. And besides that, she’s also excited about the fact she’s doing a film with her favourite actor, Govinda.

The duo are working with each other for the first time. And more than her oomph, we hear people on the set are talking about her professionalism.

For a 7 am morning shoot, Amisha makes it a point to be on the sets 15 minutes before time with her make up on. And more importantly there are no tantrums even if she is made to wait for long. Now the all important question is... Is Chi Chi back to his old late Latif days?

Upen finds a tough time dancing with Govinda

With two left feet, it wasn't easy for Upen Patel to match steps with the inimitable Govinda, but he thanks his co-star who ensured that he was completely comfortable.

'I was nervous because I've been shooting a music video with the one and only Govinda. Can you imagine me, just a four-film-old newcomer with two left feet, doing a jig with the awesome Govinda?'

Both were shooting for the promotional music video of 'Money Hai Toh Honey Hai'.

'He guided me through my steps, made sure our styles matched. He is so spontaneous and free-styled, while my steps are far more controlled. But you've to see us together for this number. Not for a second does Govinda let me slip up,' Upen told IANS.

So who says senior can't take to their juniors kindly?

'Govinda just adopted me on the sets of 'Money Hai Toh Honey Hai'. The song is a very racy - with 'Race' kind of dance track by a new duo named Nitish-Soni.

'I died when I realised I had to dance with Govinda for this song. On top of it, the film's director Ganesh Acharya was the choreographer. Both have done a million films together.'

Upen is truly appreciative of Govinda, especially at a time when stories about the senior star's eccentricities are being circulated.

'I find Govinda so normal, down to earth and nurturing. I've had some bad experiences with established actors. But one Govinda makes you forget a thousand you-know-whos,' Upen laughed without giving anything way.

David Dhawan's New Movie to see Govinda,Lara & Riteish

After an 8-month sabbatical, the irrepressible David Dhawan is back in the swing of things. Says the rejuvenated director, "The layoff has done me good. I needed the break from direction, yaar! It's not as if I was sitting idle at home. I was a judge on a dance show. That, I enjoyed thoroughly. I was finalizing the scripts for my next two films and spending time with my family." He intends to direct two films this year.

"The first would be for my friend Vashu Bhagnani with my dear friend Govinda in the lead. It'll be an out-and-out David-Govinda dhamaka, the kind audiences will expect from us. This would be my sixth film with Vashu, can you believe it? We still continue to believe in each other! We're looking for a dhamaal title for this film. But my next Hook Ya Crook written by Rensil D'Silva is a complete departure from everything I've done so far."

David's film for Vashu pairs Govinda with Lara Dutta once again after Ravi Chopra's Pappu Pass Ho Gaya. The film will also star Riteish Deshmukh. While the Vashu project takes him into familiar territory David has decided on a completely new team for Hook Ya Crook. "Rensil wrote the full script for me immediately after Rang De Basanti. He's an amazing writer. His film for me is unbelievable. I've decided on John Abraham for the lead. One more major leading man has to be selected. This is darkish film with violence in it. But nothing that would make audiences alarmed, 'Arrey yeh David Dhawan ko kya ho gaya?'

David's son Rohit is also ready to turn director this year. "In a couple of months, Rohit will ready with his project. I'll most probably be producing the film along with a corporate house."

Fire breaks out on the sets of Pappu Paas Ho Gaya

A fire broke out on the sets of B R Chopra's under-production film, Pappu Paas Ho Gaya, at Mumbai's Film City, in the western suburb of Goregaon on Friday morning. Luckily, no one was shooting at the time.

"We wrapped up the shooting of Pappu Pass Ho Gaya on Thursday by 10.30 pm. The fire started early in the morning," director Ravi Chopra says.

The reason for the fire was not immediately known but Film City sources say it could be due to a short circuit.

Chopra says that the fire will not cause a delay in the shooting. "It was a minor set. Another set has already been erected. We will start shooting in one week's time," he adds.

The movie Pappu Pass Ho Gaya stars Govinda, Lara Dutta and Tabu.
