Kareena Kapoor-Imran Khan-Filmfare

Kareena Kapoor may be dating Saif Ali Khan but she seems to have been impressed by new kid on the block- Imran Khan.

It all started at the 54th Idea Filmfare awards night where she just could not take her eyes off Imran Khan. Imran had put up an excellent show with his co-star Ranbir Kapoor that won many hearts.

Kareena was really quick to express her desire to act with Imran there after. And soon after that director Sanjay Gadhvi announced his desire to cast Kareena and Imran in his next project.

It promises to be a magical combination with Kareena Kapoor, Imran Khan and Sanjay Gadhvi who is the maker of the Dhoom Series.

Filmfare Awards were the Best Ever- Javed Akhtar

The poet par excellence Javed Akhtar is very pleased by the Filmfare awards. Not only besause he bagged another coveted trophies for his poetic lines “Kehne ko jashn-e-bahara hai” in “Jodhaa-Akbar” but he aslo considered that this year’s Filmfare awards have become far more organized and pleasurable. The bheed-bhaad is gone. There was sophistication and peace.

“This is my seventh Filmfare award for lyrics and overall my fifteenth Filmfare award. Is it a record? I don’t know. A R Rahman has won 24 Filmfare trophies. Gulzar Saab has also got plenty.” He said.

Among the award winners speeches Javed Saab liked Priyanka Chopra the best. “I told her she should get another award for her speech. She was so gracious to the other nominees,” said Javed Saab.

The prestigious Filmfare Awards were announced at the glittering ceremony here late Saturday night.Bollywood stars Hrithik Roshan and Priyanka Chopra were declared the best male and female actors respectively.

Hrithik won the award for his outstanding performance of Emperor Akbar in Jodhaa Akbar, while Priyanka Chopra was awarded with the black lady for Fashion.Jodhaa Akbar was awarded the best film and best director award went to Ashutosh Gowariker for Jodhaa Akbar.

54th Idea Filmfare Awards declared

Bollywood stars Hrithik Roshan and Priyanka Chopra were declared the best male and female actors respectively at the glittering 54th Idea Filmfare Awards ceremony in Mumbai late Saturday night. Hrithik won the award for his classy act of Emperor Akbar in Jodhaa Akbar, while Priyanka walked away with the black lady statuette for her performance in Fashion.

Jodhaa Akbar was awarded the best film as it pipped Dostana, Ghajini, Jaane Tu Ya Jaane Na, Rab Ne Bana Di Jodi, and Rock On while the best director award went to Ashutosh Gowariker for Jodhaa Akbar.

Deepika sizzles at Idea Filmfare Awards Press Meet

The Filmfare Awards 2008 : A night to remember

The evening of the 23rd day of February came and went, and the 53rd Fair One Filmfare Awards goes down in history as yet another one to be remembered and cherished. The tight security within the premises of Yashraj Studios, the elegance of the red carpet, the presence of stars who ensured that not a strand of hair was out of place at this very formal black tie event only added to the seriousness and elegance of Filmfare.

The Bachchans, Ranis, Salmans, Hrithiks and Katrinas failed to show up, but the Preitys, Shah Rukhs, Priyankas, Bipashas, Johns, Saifs, Kareenas and Akshays ensured that the event shone nice and bright. Ably hosted by the sober Vidya Balan and Karan Johar, the crazy but intelligent co-hosts Shah Rukh and Saif were the 'dudes of the evening'. Their wit coupled with their ability to be very rude may have got them on the wrong side of many-a-person, but they surely found a place in the good books of audiences.

Though Himesh Reshammiya crooned – yes, in his popular nasal voice – for the audience, Akshay impressed with his dance histrionics. You'll also get to watch performances of Neil Nitin Mukesh, Deepika Padukone, Kareena Kapoor and Vivek Oberoi on your TV sets on March 2nd, only on Sony.

While the crowd won a lovely entertaining evening, the happiest of the lot were those who took home the lovely black lady - the Filmfare trophy. Shah Rukh, Kareena, Aamir Khan, Imtiaz Ali, Tabu, Darsheel Safary, Konkona Sensharma, Irrfan Khan, AR Rahman, Shreya Ghoshal, Shaan, Rishi Kapoor, Ranbir Kapoor, Deepika Padukone... had reason enough to celebrate.

And we celebrate, too. What exactly? The shaan of Filmfare, the antics of our actors, we celebrate the Indian film industry and above all else, the art of cinema! Here's to Filmfare, in all its glory!

The 53rd Fair One Filmfare Awards begun with the guests paying homage to the souls of artistes who departed in 2007

Saif and Shahrukh, the hosts for the evening make an entry on horse-backs. They introduce the awards in their own in-formal way & term it the Na-Real awards. The Award trophies were in a coconut shape.

The Na-Real Award for Wardrobe Malfunction has been bagged by none other than their-co hostess, Vidya Balan for her look in Hey Baby.

The next award in line is the Best Male Debutant Award. Ranbir Kapoor, the lover boy of Saawariya is awarded the honour by Jeetendra and Tushar Kapoor. On winning the award, a delighted Ranbir says, "20 % of my reason for being an actor was that I could win a Filmfare. I am overwhelmed." Addressing Neetu Singh, Ranbir goes on to say, "Mamma, I am bringing home a girl tonight."

The Sony Head N Shoulders Fresh Face of the Year Award is being presented by Rohit Gupta and Kareena Kapoor. Deepika Padukone, the hot debutant of OSO, has bagged the award. A surprised Deepika says that she wasn't expecting the award.

Anu Malik and Alka Yagnik come up to present the R. D. Burman Award for Promising Music Talent. Monty Sharma bags the award for lending music to Saawariya.

A. R. Rehman wins the award for the Best Background Score. The music director was presented the award by Abbas-Mustan. He says, "The Filmfare Award is like an ornament for a lady; the more you have, it enhances the charm."

Abbas-Mustan, the duo who always dress in white, come on-stage to present the Best Costume Award. It was awarded to Sujata Sharma for Gandhi My Father.

Chak De India has won the Best Cinemtography Award. The award was presented by R Madhavan and his wife to Sudip Chatterjee
