Vidya Balan is Chetan Bhagat's new Heroine

Vidya Balan seems to be thriving on her networking skills. The actress is said to be in the good books of none other than ‘Five Point Someone’ Chetan Bhagat.

Vidya, was recently seen launching Chetan’s latest book ‘2 States’. Buzz has it that a Bollywood filmmaker is already in talks with the writer for a movie version of the book and who else but Vidya is expected to star in it.

Two of Bhagat’s previous books, ‘One night at a Call Centre’ and ‘Five Point Someone’, have already been adapted for the silver screen with ‘Hello’ and ‘3 Idiots’.

With Vidya’s presence at the book launch, it didn’t take people long to guess the consequence. Guess, Vidya doesn’t want to miss out on a single opportunity to associate with something as prestigious as that.

Vidya Balan experiments with her looks

After wearing typical Indian ensembles in most of her flicks, Vidya Balan has finally decided to shed her girl-next-door image and go for a chic trendy look in Paa. Often facing flak for her choice of clothes both on-screen and off-screen, Vidya is touted to have gone for a complete makeover and is bound to please our eyes.

With her role evolving through several phases of life from a collage girl, wife to a mother, the lady will be seen experimenting with her looks in the film.

"I wanted to work with designer Sabyasachi Chakraborty as I felt he would grasp the character`s sensibilities and reflect that in the way she dresses”, confirms Vidya.

Talking about Vidya’s look in the film a source said, "The first look as a student studying abroad, is very boho-chic-dresses made from Indian fabrics made in western style - long jackets, gowns and skirts".

For her second role of a wife and a mother, the actress will be seen wearing more traditional attires. "Sabya has given me plain cotton sarees from various regions of India with simple stark borders and nice interesting blouses. It’s a serious and sober look. I love wearing organic stuff and that’s why I love cotton and coarse materials as fabrics", said the actress.

As for her original style the lass stated that she is more comfortable with European style outfits, which are feminine and sensual.

"I don’t like Indian asexual clothing. I love outfits that look feminine and that’s why I love the Anarkali style churidar-kurtas. My western look in ‘Paa’ is fun and casually thrown together stuff - somewhat like I am in real life. I am not the kind of person who plans my wardrobe. I pick up things I like wearing and wear them according to my comfort", she added.

Vidya Balan looses weight

Bollywood actress Vidya Balan must be really glad about her tremendous weight loss, but it doesn’t seem to be bringing all the happiness to the actress. Sources reveal that Vidya now can’t fit into some of her expensive outfits, which were designed to suit her previous size and shape!

These designer clothes reportedly can’t be altered to the required extent, so she has to do away with them. And guess what, these clothes sum up to a total of Rs 3 lakhs!

Vidya has been forced to discard her outfits as she’s lost 4 inches from the top and 3 from the waist. Confirms Vidya, “To gain something, you have to lose something.”

Vidya Balan eyes Zaheer Khan

Vidya Balan doesn’t seem to be interested in the good looking men in Bollywood, but the actress has fallen for the sporty one. She has confessed that she has a soft corner for cricketer Zaheer Khan.

Speaking about the ace cricketer, Vidya said, “He is the hottest cricketer on the block, he may be quiet, but he seems to be a strong man from within.”

Vidya might be surrounded by the most gorgeous men in India, but she has a liking for sports stars. However, Zaheer already has his wedding on cards.

Guess Vidya should concentrate on other bachelors of the Indian team for now!!!

Bipasha Basu was not very comfortable when she came to know that her beau John Abraham is sharing stage with Vidya Balan and she made much effort to convince John to walk out of Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s Chenab Gandhi.

Bipasha has been trying her best to persuade John to step out of the project, but he doesn’t want to back out from this historical venture of Sanjay. The shooting for the film was all set to start in April, but it has now been postponed to December 2009 because of John’s uncertainty.

This delay could just cool bips down but it seems that cracks have started to come in the John-Bips relation as the the couple has again begun to have arguments over this issue

India is surely making its presence felt at the Oscar library, as most of the films that were released recently, have found their way to the Oscar library. In the last few weeks movies like Rock On, Sarkar Raj, Heroes have been invited to be a part of this prestigious library.

The latest one to join the gang is the Shahid-Vidya starrer Kismat Konnection. Apparently, the Library of Motion Pictures of Arts and Sciences (known as the Oscars Library) had expressed interest for a copy of the Kismat Konnection for the permanent core collection. The scripts in their collection are made accessible for research purposes only; students, filmmakers, writers and actors are among their regular patrons.

Rani Mukherji refuses cameo for Sanjay Leela Bhansali

Very recently Rani Mukherji was dropped from a high profile Titan watches ad campaign. Now she has refused a cameo in Sanjay Leela Bhansali’ new movie Chenab Gandhi.

Apparently Sanjay Leela Bhansali approached Rani Mukherji with the project. Rani said she will agree to be part of the movie provided she get the lead role.

But Bhansali offered her a cameo role in the venture Chenab Gandhi. The lead role was promised to Vidya Balan.

Rani has tired of playing cameos including one in Bhansali’s last picture Saawariya. She refused to play second lead in Chenab Gandhi to junior actress Vidya Balan.

Om Puri and Vidya Balan to be honoured with Giants Award

Om Puri has always impressed the audience. His work has always been phenomenal and his contribution to the field of cinema exceeds to infinity. News is that Om Puri, the noted National Film Development Corporation Chairman, will be felicitated with the Giants Award for his achievements in cinema.

Vidya Balan express her love for SRK

Vidya Balan made a shocking statement quite recently. She declared her love for Shah Rukh Khan and even went on to state that for him, she would be even willing to kill Gauri Khan. However, it is quite obvious that she said so in light humor as all this chit-chat happened on the 'Sajid Superstars' show.

On being asked about her crush, Vidya Balan didn't bat an eyelid as she only mentioned one name - Shah Rukh Khan! When warned by Sajid Khan that Gauri Khan could well be watching the show, she confessed that for getting the man of her dreams, she would even be willing to kill Gauri Khan!

She did mention her disappointment though for missing out on being even nominated for Bhool Bhulaiyaa. Though she gave her heart, body and soul for the role of a woman possessed and saw some critical and commercial acclaim for the film, she was left perplexed when award functions ignored her completely. In fact one of her scenes from the film even made it to the best scenes selected by Sajid Khan.

Her worst scene was an embarrassment for her though as a sequence from her tele-serial 'Hum Paanch', which was aired years back on TV. No wonder, she was red faced all through the duration as the scene played.

She also mentioned about how uncomfortable she was about the thought of enacting a love making scene with Sanjay Dutt for Parineeta. In fact a few weeks back, even Sanjay Dutt had mentioned that it was quite strange to shoot for the scene since director Pradeep Sarkar insisted in dozens of retakes before the scene was finally canned!

Sajid however didn't have a heart to listen to what Vidya had to say, especially when she opened her mouth to sing a song. The moment she started singing 'Pal Pal' from Lage Raho Munnabhai, Sajid went off to sleep!

While she was all fun in making her dancing entry into the show with the song 'Dholna' [Heyy Babyy], things turned a little serious as she was asked to reveal some bitter truths. In a round of controversial questions which followed, she was asked about her role in the Shahid-Kareena break-up. In addition, she was also grilled about her involvement with John Abraham. She did come up with smart answers for two of the biggest controversies of her personal life ever since she entered celluloid.

Though the actors have worked together in Guru , they weren’t playing the central characters. So, obviously they had their limitations. But Kaushal’s film will be `the’ film for them.
