Shah Rukh Khan- My choice for the Best of the Best Awards

There have been many actors and actress, but not many can be labeled as the Best of the Best. One such actor, who has seen it all and has risen from the ashes to the pinnacle of success, is the King Khan of Bollywood. He is none other than Shah Rukh Khan. He is the very best and definitely gets my vote for the Best of the Best Awards.

He is one of the greatest actors of the modern era and has a huge global fan following. He is an outspoken person and has a heart of a king. The never say die attitude and his workaholic nature has helped him acquire the top position in Bollywood. He has won several awards and recognitions and also would be the most deserving candidate for the Blog Awards.

But, his journey to success has not been a smooth ride. He has been made to struggle a lot. The King Khan has been the centre of attraction lately not only for his mind blowing performances but also because it was the growing rivalry with the perfectionist of Bollywood- AamirKhan.

Both the icons have been at each other all the time and trying to prove that they are the best of the best. Be it the bold statements that both the superstars give about each other in the media, or the blog posts, both have been trying hard to prove their worth. Even in the Television Commercials both are working against each other. While Aamir Khan is hired as the brand ambassador of Tata Sky which is a Satelite TV service which is been provided by the TATA group, The King Khan is doing commercials and is promoting its rival Dish TV whose service provider is Airtel.

But Shahrukh has definitely proved time and again that he is not one to l;et down. He has numerous superhits to prove his worth. Apart from the unforgettable hit of all time “Dilwale Dulhania Le Jayenge” he has also been a part of mega hits like Kuch Kuch Hota Hai, Mohabbatein, Veer Zaara, and most recently Rab Ne Bana Di Jodi.

His consistant performance for sucha long time forces me to believe that he is the most deserving candidate for the BOB Awards. I will definitely cast my vote for Shahrukh Khan and nominate him for the Best of the Best Awards, and will also urge you all for the same. One may find it really pleasing to hear Shah Rukh Khan sound something like, “Please nominate me in the Best of the Best Awards”.

Shah Rukh Khan goes back to play villain

Shah Rukh Khan, who had re-defined negative roles, and created the new age villain, seems to be going back to basics. After a series of duds at the Box Office and a very poor performance of his Knight Riders at the IPL this year, Shah Rukh Khan, is resorting to every possible mean to justify his kingly status.

The King-Khan will soon be seen in his most loved avatar—A Villian. The latest rumours are that SRK has given his nod to play the main villain in ‘Dhoom 3’. SRK has been approached by the producers of the ‘Dhoom’ series. The actor, who is known to be very close to Aditya Chopra, agreed to portray the role after hearing the script.

Yash Raj Films have been going through bad time as none of their upcoming movies or their completed ones are generating any curiosity from the buyers as well as the audiences. SRK has always been a quick-fix solution for the Chopras.

Dune Kossatz crowned Miss Bollywood IPL

Dune Kossatz who belongs to East London was named Miss Bollywood IPL South Africa at the Montecasino entertainment complex.

Kossatz received a specially made crown from Gitanjali Jewellers containing gold, silver, diamonds and other precious stones from former Miss Universe Michelle McLean of South Africa. Kossatz received the most internet votes of 48 finalists selected from each of the IPL games held at various South African venues.

The model cum actress was ecstatic at the opportunity to do screen tests for a movie with Shah Rukh Khan. Confessing that she had not seen any Bollywood movies yet, Kossatz said she was going to start doing so immediately. She also promised to start learning Hindi.

Genna Cloud, who got the second greatest number of votes, was also named First Princess by the panel of judges and Dunay Nortje who secured the third position was crowned Second Princess.

This on-off component of the prize was finally revealed at the event after it was announced at the start of the series.

Shahrukh Khan banned from IPL

Bollywood superstar Shah Rukh Khan remains very tense of late. Though he is very good at handling his various responsibilities well, the stress has finally taken its toll on him. King Khan was spotted smoking on the stands on April 21, while watching his IPL team perform. But this stress busting act has not gone unnoticed as the anti-smoking squad has seen him smoking in the field which happens to be a public place.

The National Organization for Tobacco Eradication has sent the details to Supersport, who are the official broadcasters of the IPL and the NCAS. NCAS has said that television footage showing icons smoking dangerously increases the chances of children and other non-smokers picking up the habit as they try to emulate their heroes.

NCAS further said, “While smoking in public places is still not banned in South Africa, the department of health there was very active in lobbying for the concept of no smoking in public places. If Khan does it again we will ask the management to caution him, or we will seek his removal from the stadium."

Kajol -Karan Johar in a tiff for My name is Khan

Shah Rukh Khan – Kajol starrer My Name Is Khan directed by their best buddy Karan Johar seems to be spoiling relations between Kajol and Karan Johar.

One big schedule of the film has already been wrapped up in the USA before Shah Rukh Khan Shoulder surgery. But Kajol it seems is not too keen on shooting out of India given that she has to leave her daughter Nysa back home now that she’s going to school. But Karan also has to shoot some more sequences in New York, which Kajol is refusing to oblige with.

Karan expects that his good friend understands his problem but Kajol wants him to shoot these portions in Mumbai itself on specially built sets.

But Karan being Karan he just doesn’t want to compromise on such things. So now that’s a deadlock even the King Khan might not be able to resolve.

Slumdog Millionaire kid Tanay Cheda is young SRK in My name is Khan

Karan Johar known for making designer films recently shot key sequences of his “My Name Is Khan” in a slum with Slumdog Millionaire kid Tanay Cheda. Tanay, who played the 'middle' Jamal in Slumdog Millionaire, made Shah Rukh Khan's childhood look convincing for the film.

The director chose him to play young Shah Rukh because of Tanay's instant connectivity with the Mumbai slums and also because of the Western audience.

The scenes with Tanay were shot in Borivali with Zarina Wahab, who plays Shah Rukh's mother. The director now intends to cast Tanay as junior SRK whenever required, much in the way that Master Mayur played the young Amitabh Bachchan in a series of films.

Salman to cheer for Preety Zinta - Rival of SRK at IPL

There has not been a very healthy relation between Salman Khan and Shah Rukh Khan ever since there was a fight of sorts at Kat’s birthday party which has not yet recovered. While Shah Rukh has kept his silence on this front, Salman has been loud and clear and has done everything he could to make sure his dislike for SRK is well pronounced.

First he had joined hands with Aamir, and now he will cheer for SRK's rival - Preity Zinta. She may not have bad terms with SRK but she definitely is his competitor at the IPL.

Shah Rukh is leaving no stone unturned to get most of the biggies of Bollywood for his Kolkata Knight Riders' matches; Salman will be cheering for Preity Zinta's Kings XI Punjab with his entire family. He is expected to take time out from the shooting of his film Veer in London only to fly to SA for Preity.

Shahrukh-Sushmita set to rock on screen again

SRK-Sushmita’s sizzling onscreen chemistry in ‘Main Hoon Na’ had left the audience speechless. But Sushmita Sen has not been on screen with those sensuous acts ever since. However, the duo is soon to be seen together again in ‘Dulha Mil Gaya’.

The film has been in the making for a long time now as SRK’s qawalli sequence could not be shot on time. But now Shah has given his dates to producer Viveck Vaswani to shoot for the final leg of ‘Dulha Mil Gaya’, which involves filming of a song. There was also some balance shoot left but it was was completed on a cruise ship in Malaysia last week.

Written and directed by Mudassar Aziz, music by Lalit Pandit, lyrics by Mudassar Aziz, ‘Dulha Mil Gaya’ has an eclectic star cast which include - Fardeen Khan, Sushmita Sen, Mohit Chadda, Tara Sharma, Johny Lever, Parikshat Sahni, Bina Kak, Howard Rosemeyer, Suchitra Pillai, Anushka Manchanda, with Shahrukh Khan in a special appearance.

Shahrukh Khan, Preity Zinta and Shilpa Shetty will be watching all the women attending the IPL games in South Africa as they will be in search of the newest Bollywood starlet.

The Indian Professional League which consists of Shahrukh Khan, Preity Zinta and Shilpa Shetty have announced a Bollywood movie role for one lucky South African as it prepares to launch the five-week Twenty20 extravaganza.This announcement was made on Thursday by IPL chairman and commissioner Lalit Modi and Bollywood superstars Shah Rukh Khan, Shilpa Shetty and Preity Zinta.

The lucky South African IPL fan with star quality stands to win a role in a Bollywood movie, 50,000 rands in cash, a business class trip to India and other prizes in the 2009 tournament`s Miss Bollywood SA competition.

A total of 50 winners will be chosen from the crowds at every one of the eight venues which are Cape Town, East London, Port Elizabeth, Durban, Bloemfontein, Kimberley, Johannesburg and Pretoria. One finalist from each venue will be chosen, leaving eight winners to be hosted and feted at The Wanderers in Johannesburg at the final of the IPL 2009 tournament on 24 May. The ultimate winner will be announced during the final.

IPL fans worldwide will also be able to cast their votes for the winner via the IPL website.

Shahrukh Khan unhappy with Sunil Gavaskar

Kolkata Knight Rider owner - Shah Rukh Khan lashed out at former India batsman Sunil Gavaskar for his harsh comments on John Buchanan’s multiple captain theory. John Buchanan, the current manager of Kolkata Knight Riders, had suggested the multiple captain theory for the IPL second season that has risen quiet a few eyebrow.

India`s batting legend Gavaskar, had criticised Buchanan`s theory saying too much importance is being accorded to the Australian, who is a failed first-class cricketer and is only trying to get lucrative jobs for "his Queensland pals".

"I have great respect for Mr Gavaskar. But having said that I would like to say that please give the multiple-captain theory a breathing space to try now. If we fail we can always go back to the traditional way. I have spent lot of money on my team. If you have a problem then you buy your own team and run it the way you want." Shah Rukh said as an obvious response to Gavaskar`s comments.

Buchanan`s concept has generated lot of controversy ahead of the April 18 to May 24 IPL to be held in eight cities of South Africa. Sourav Ganguly, who led the team last year, had expressed resentment to the multiple captain idea.The former India captain and Buchanan have had lengthy discussions with Shah Rukh at his residence to thrash out the issues.

Shah Rukh also expressed hope that his team would perform much better than last year.

Shahrukh Khan to campaign for Congress

Congress is planning to add glamour quotient in the upcoming election campains. It has decided to rope in Bollywood superstar - Shahrukh Khan for its election campaign.

Shahrukh and another Bollywood star Preity Zinta are expected to campaign for Minister of State for Home Affairs - Sriprakash Jaiswal who happens to be the Congress candidate from Kanpur.

"People like Bollywood stars to campaign. There are a number of actors who are our sympathisers. We will utilize their services," said Fernandes.

Sonam Kapoor wants Shah Rukh Khan

Sonam Kapoor may have done just two films but she is very selective with her roles. Sonam however is ready to make exceptions if a role is opposite Shah Rukh Khan.

Sonam had teamed up with Ranbir Kapoor in her debut film "Saawariya" and her second project was "Dilli 6" opposite Abhishek Bachchan. She is now looking forward to share screen with superstar Shah Rukh Khan. "He is one man for whom I will be so very willing to ignore my rule book. I would be more than happy to go ahead and sign a film if Shah Rukh happens to be my hero," says Sonam.

However apart from SRK, Sonam certainly has her set of do’s and don’ts. She doesn’t intend to do films where all she has to do is to dance in four songs and enact a couple of emotional scenes.

It is expected that Sonam’s next will be for her dad’s production house. The film is named "Ayesha" and is based on Jane Austen’s novel "Emma". Sonam will be seen in a completely new ultra-chic avtar. The film will feature Abhay Deol and newcomer Arunodoy Singh.

Sonam Kapoor is also considered by Kunal Kohli for his next film that would be directed by his assistant Danish Aslam.

Gauri Named SRK - Abhinav

Gauri Khan is a perfect wife for the King Khan. Gauri Khan is also a television and a film producer apart from being a closet interior decorator. She recently appeared in a chat showon the Idiot Box. She just couldnt stop praising Shahrukh for his hard work and dedication. Gauri goes by the fact that Shah Rukh is the King of Bollywood. She is the first lady of Bollywood who talked about her husband in such glowing terms in a chat show.

"He was always ambitious right from his childhood days, in his school, in his college he has always been on top. Whether it was as a student; football, hockey, his theatre anything, whatever he would touch would be gold. I think I was smart to marry him. I think that`s my smartness that I chose the right guy,” said Gauri khan.

However, the lady denied being the pillar behind SRK. Gauri also gave an insight into her love story. "Yes, he was the first person I met and went out with and he has been the only man. My parents were obviously against it because we were so young and then to get married to a person who was going to join films and being from a different religion. We even changed his name to 'Abhinav' so that they feel he was a Hindu boy and that was really silly and childish." She added.

It has been long sice and SRk is now the King of Bollywood. So one can definately say that Gauri had made the correct choice.

Shahrukh Khan-Amitabh Bachchan-Don2

Well it is public now that Nadeem and Nasir Irani are striving hard to make the sequel of Don which will hopefully be named Don 2- The Return of the King. The movie will star the original Don – Amitabh Bachchan. But this is not all. The producer has plans of approaching King Khan to be a part of the project.

Now that SRK and Big B have decided to work together in Farah Khan's Happy New Year, Nadeem and Nasir Irani intend to meet SRK and discuss their sequel to Don.

SRK’s role is parallel to Mr. Bachchan’s and both have a fair share. The film is going to be directed by a famous ad-filmmaker who has also written the script.

Farhan Akhtar also wanted to make a sequel to the original Don and King Khan was going to be the choice for the lead role. But the rights of a sequel to the original film are only held by the Iranis. By agreeing to work with the producer-duo, SRK's dream of working in the sequel will finally come true!

Kylie Minogue refuses Shah Rukh Khan

International pop star, Kylie Minogue who is shooting for her Bollywood flick Blue is apparently satisfied with her hosts, Akshay Kumara and Sanjay Dutt to such an extent that she refused to meet any other bollywood superstars. She also did not want to meet Shahrukh Khan.

Kylie Minogue snubbed Shah Rukh Khan by refusing to meet him. Shah Rukh’s office got in touch with Kylie, expressing the superstar’s desire to meet her. It is believed that Kylie flatly refused to meet Shah Rukh on the film sets instead she conveyed to him that the meeting could only happen at the completion party of the film.

Shah Rukh wants to name his dog Aamir

The War between the Khans has just got heated up. Shah Rukh comes out with yet another scandalous statement saying that he wants to name his dog Aamir.

Aamir declared that he had named his dog Shah Rukh in the past.And now its SRK’s turn. Taking a dig at the actor said, “Gauri gets upset when I crack jokes about naming my dog Aamir. She thinks why should I bring myself down by doing or saying such things? I respect her viewpoint but sometimes I think it is absolutely necessary as people ask for it.”

Shah Rukh seems to be highly offended by Aamir’s press conferences and mockeries targeting him. Shah Rukh had claimed in the past that he is number one and Aamir in a media event self-claimed himself as number one - mocking Shah Rukh.

On being asked about the incident SRK said, “I will confront Aamir and ask him why he said such a thing. I accept a lot of things, but I think this is not funny. When I say I am number one, I definitely don`t mean it in arrogance. I say it with a sense of humour and a sense of humility.”

The negative vibes between the two actors had become far more obvious for a long time now.
Well, it looks like Bollywood is no more the peaceful land it once was.

SRK promotes Billo Barber in a unique way

The rivalry between the Khans continues. Aamir Khan had become a barber promote his film Ghajini with his unique hair cut but the King Khan has gone a step further. He has planned to invite about 400 barbers with their families, for the promotion of his upcoming film Billu Barber.

Director Priyadarshan confirmed it. He said,“Instead of having celebs over for the premiere of Billu Barber, Shah Rukh has planned to invite 400 barbers and their families to the premiere.”

Red Chillies’ Billu Barber is about two childhood friends, one a poor village barber, played by Irrfan Khan and a superstar played by Shah Rukh and the equation between these friends from diverse backgrounds.

Well lets hope that this promotion policy works for SRK.

Shilpa Shetty to enter the IPL

Last Year 's IPL Series saw two of the Bollywood Stars- King Khan and Preity Zinta enter the world of cricket. But this year they wont be alone for the IPL Series - II. This year giving them company would be none other than the ever sensuous and seductive Shilpa Shetty.

Shilpa along with business partner Raj Kundra has invested approximately $15.4 million in acquiring 12% stakes in the Rajasthan Royals team. Shetty said she would have a role in the team's promotional activities this year. "I will be promoting the team. Perhaps a music video will also come," she quipped.

Last Year's IPL Champs which is lead by the legendary Australian spin doctor Shane Warne is likely to have big names in the cricketing world like South African skipper Graeme Smith and Aussie all-rounder Shane Watson.

Shahrukh Khan plays Mogambo in Mr India 2

While making a re-make of Mr India , director Shekhar Kapoor has approached none other than Shah Rukh Khan for the character of famous villain Mogambo. The role of Mogambo had been played by Amrish Puri in the original Mr India.

Mr India 2 is the sequel of the 1987 hit, Mr India starring Anil Kapoor and Sridevi. It will feature Anil Kapoor and Sridevi but a younger couple will play the lead.

Mr India 2 is said to be Villain Centric, so it will be a plum role for Shah Rukh Khan. Audiences will also be curious to see how Shah Rukh Khan essays the role. Shah Rukh is not new to negative roles. He had delivered super hits playing negative roles in Darr, Baazigar and Anjaam.

Shahrukh and Farah Khan has a Narrow Escape

Superstar Shah Rukh Khan and the legendary Manoj Kumar has reached a truce over the controversial 'Om Shanti Om' . The two stars met at Kumar’s residence to discuss withdrawal of the court cases. Manoj Kumar has finally agreed for out of court settlement on the King Khan seeking for forgivness for the mistake committed.

Manoj Kumar had filed cases against OSO in connection with the spoof of his image but has finally agreesd to withdraw the case. This move surely comes as a breather to SRK, who had been dragged to court for not honouring the promise of deleting the sequence in the film.

The offending sequence shows security guards of the movie theatre beating Manoj Kumar’s duplicate after he displays a driving license showing his photo in his trade mark style of covering the face with his palm.

Mr. Kumar had asked Shah Rukh to remove the scene to which director Farah Khan and SRK had agreed. But the scene continued to be a part of the film which prompted Manoj Kumar to file a case against Shah Rukh.
