Aamir Khan eyeing Forrest Gump

Aamir Khan starrer Ghajini was a remake of a Tamil Movie which happened to be a big success. After this mega success Aamir Khan is looking at a Hollywood hit for his next venture. Aamir Khan is said to be totally transfixed by Forrest Gump, the Tom Hanks picture that grossed millions in 1994.
Aamir Khan-Forrest Gump
The movie has impressed Aamir so much that on being asked which film he would choose to do as a Hindi remake after Ghajini, he says, “It’s Tom Hank’s Forrest Gump. I have seen this film. It’s a wonderful movie. Tom Hanks has done a fantastic job. If I get an opportunity to do a remake, it has to be Forrest Gump.”

His current movie Ghajini is also a remake of a Tamil film of the same name and Aamir says that the concept of 15 minutes of memory loss impressed him very much. “This concept has not been used in any Bollywood film so far. So it impressed me very much and that’s why I thought of working in it. From my point of view Forrest Gump is also a very good film for a Hindi-remake.”

Amul takes advantage of Aamir's Ghajini

One may remember that 2008 happened to be one of the 'impactful' years for Bollywood. It saw the transformation of the chocolate hero Aamir into a muscular 'dude with an attitude' in the smash hit film Ghajini.

It is needless to say that the Ghajini mania is spreading far and wide. And for those who thought that it was only the media that worked faster than the speed of light, then, one must better think again, because there's someone who works even faster than the proverbial speed.

And that's none other than the super brilliant guys at Amul, who wasted no time in bringing out their latest ad campaign that has Aamir Khan's cartoon in his 8-packs with scribbling on his hands and body which read as 'I slice bread'', ' I make sandwich', while his chest reads 'Get Amul'.

It is indeed an interesting ad. But the guys at Amul should also remember that one may forget to breathe for a moment, but how can one forget Amul.

Asin unveils Aamir's Ghajini Paintings painted by Salman

Salman Khan is well known for two things. One is his amazing physique and the other being Painting. The actor is known to gift his exquisite paintings to those whom he considers truly special. The latest is none other than Aamir Khan.
Aamir and Salman have been good friends for a while now and the tale goes such that Sallu put Aamir's performance in his latest flick Ghajini in canvas and he decided to gift him two special paintings. The paintings are in black and white and a noticeable aspect of both the paintings is the fact that both of them depict Aamir's by-now-famous Ghajini hairstyle.

The paintings were unveiled at a special function at a Mumbai multiplex by Ghajini's lead actress Asin. She not only stars opposite Aamir in Ghajini but also plays the romantic lead in the Salman Khan- Ajay Devgan starrer London Dreams.

Aamir's performance in Ghajini has surely caught Salman's fancy.

Asin Thotumkal shifting to Mumbai

It seems, the South Indian hottie Asin Thotumkal was waiting for this time. She is shifting to Mumbai now that her career in Bollywood has taken off, starting with Aamir Khan’s Ghajini.

Asin’s parents are also moving in with her in Bandra where she is in the lookout for a home. Her parents have moved from Chennai to Mumbai with her.

“Both of them gave up their jobs to be with me. Mom is a doctor. She has taken voluntary retirement. She manages my home now. And dad had seven business enterprises. He gave them up to look after my career. Right now I’m quite a handful and worth more than all his business ventures,” Asin reveals.

Asin, who is a fun loving and loves to talk, admits she was asked to keep quiet till “Ghajini” hits the screen. Directed by A.R. Murugadoss and produced by Allu Arvind, the film starring Aamir Khan in main lead was released Friday.

She will be moving into her new home in Bandra in January 2009.

Ghajini is a Perfect Blockbuster

Ghajini is an out and out revenge saga But there is a slight twist to the tale. The director has very cleverly tried to mix the revenge story with a soft romance between the two protagonists, Sanjay Singhaniaplayed by Aamir Khan and Kalpana played by Asin.

Sanjay is a very flourishing business tycoon. One day, in order to promote his venture, he decides to display a board on Kalpana's roof top. But Kalpana doesent allow it to be done. But her commercial director overhears the conversation and presumes that Asin has refused Sanjay's love offer. Here comes the romantic touch. He pursuades her to accept the offer and slowly romance blossoms between Kalpana and Sanjay. But all of a sudden Kalpana is muddered. The violent murder of his girlfriend sets off an acute short term memory loss in Sanjay. But he fights with the circumstances. He works around the handicap to reach her murderers is the rest of the story.

Hindi movies have often depicted people suffering from memory loss, but in Ghajini the protagonist recalls events only for 15 minutes. And the manner in which he works to regain his memory has been depicted meticulously and very differently. He keeps writing the time, name and dates of clues about the killers as when he remembers them. He also carries a Polaroid to keep him updated in case he forgets.

Performance wise, this is completely an Aamir Khan movie. He has done a brilliant job as usual. He hardly talks. It's his facial expressions and body language that do all the talking. His leading lady Asin has put up a sterling performance, so has the villain, Pradeep Singh Rawat. Ravi Chandran's cinematography is excellent and AR Rahman's music is top-notch.

The film is three hours long and each scene of the film is so gripping that never once do we feel bored. The story has been told in such a novel way with so many twists and turns that it keeps the audiences on the edge of their seats guessing what up next. Director AR Murugadoss has tried to de-route Ghajini when compared to the Tamil version. The climax is different from the original. He cleverly weaves in the past and the present.

All in all Ghajini is a refreshing change. The film does not have a happy ending as both lovers do not get united in the end. Although this concept has never been approved by the Indian audiences, but Ghajini is sure to change that for the sheer brilliance of the movie. To sum up, Ghajini has everything to turn it a blockbuster hit.

Asin replaces Gul Panag

'Ghajini' girl Asin is the new Tata Sky girl. She has replaced Gul Panag. The new ads will be aired around the 'Ghajini's' release, clearly making it a promotion strategy for the film.

When contacted Asin gave a knowing smile, saying, "I will only ask you to wait and watch. Right now I am busy with an assignment so if you like to hear more please get in touch at a later time." However, when Gul Panag was asked for an opinion, She said, "I have spent some very happy moments sharing screen space with Aamir Khan. I bear no ill feelings if Asin may have been chosen, about which at present I have no update. May be the concept they have now is more suited for them as a pair."

Aamir Khan has simply gone all out to promote upcoming film and to make it a big a success as is the case with his lat movie- Taare Zameen Par. And it looks that he has been sucessful in doing so. He has generated enough curiosity around the film to draw the audiences in.

Is ASIN the next Bollywood Queen

The race for the top slot among the bollywood actresses seems to be getting hotter and hotter day by day. Till few weeks ago, the field seemed to be clear for Katrina Kaif. But that was before Fashion and Dostana happened and Priyanka Chopra was back in reckoning.

Now with the release of Ghajini around the corner, the film's heroine Asin, seems to be tipped to be the next big thing that has happened to Hindi cinema. Even before the release of Ghajini, the actress has already been signed on by Vipul Shah for his London Dreams where she is paired opposite Salman Khan and Ajay Devgan.

It reveals quite a lot for the actress, who has already made waves without a single release whatsoever. She has already started acting like a B town heroine she is believed to have sat through the entire shooting of a song which was being picturised on Ghajini's second heroine, Jiah Khan. Could be she was checking out the competition.

But with reports of her having endeared herself to all her co stars, the actress seems set to go places. We are sure that Katrina will be feeling a little insecure. And there is one more top class contender whomwe can’t ignore and she is Deepika Padukone.
