Its all praise for Akshay for Khatron Ke Khiladi - Level 2

Brazilian beauty Bruna Abdullah, actresses Rupali Ganguly, Nauheed Cyrusi and VJ Anushka Manchanda are all ga-ga over Akshay Kumar. It is not that they have a crush on him, but say the Bollywood star was a "motivating and inspiring" host for the second edition of adventure reality show "Khatron Ke Khiladi - Level 2".

All of them are participants on the show and feel Akshay motivated them to push their limits to accomplish tasks and often eased a tough situation by cracking jokes.

"Khatron Ke Khiladi - Level 2" has 13 celebrity women, including Mandira Bedi, Shweta Salve, Rosa Catalano, Sushma Reddy, Carol Gracias and Shonali Nagrani, among others and each of them has a male partner and they compete with each other to win Rs.5 million as prize money. The show was shot in Cape Town and will air on Colors in September.

Nauheed Cyrusi, best remembered as the "Piya basanti re" girl, says Akshay was a constant support system for her. For Brazilian beauty Bruna Abdullah, Akshay was an inspiration. VJ and singer Anushka was also all praise for the 41-year-old actor.

"Akshay was the best host possible for this show. If I wasn’t able to do a task easily, he used to motivate me. Even if any of us backed out of a task, he would give us plenty of pep talks and used to ask us to push our limits. He was a super teacher," said Rupali Ganguly.

Katrina Kaif suffers wardrobe malfunction

Katrina Kaif’s admirers would have given anything to catch the moment of her wardrobe mishap in a dripping wet saree. But only the unit members enjoyed the moment as the gorgeous Kat’s saree did a strange shrinking act while shooting for upcoming film ‘De Dana Dan’.

Katrina was doing a rain song with co-star Akshay Kumar, when her saree shrunk up to her knees, revealing too much of her legs. The skin-show was much relished by the onlookers but director Priyadarshan and choreographer Pony Verma were not prepared for the unexpected situation and decided to do away with long and wide angles.

Sexy Katrina took the incident in a stride, “It is okay. It was just one of those things which happen during shoots.” Said Katrina

Denise Richards locked lips with Akshay Kumar

Hollywood actress Denise Richards admits that she loved locking lips with Bollywood actor and “sexiest man in India” Akshay Kumar in their upcoming film 'Kambakkht Ishq'.

The former Bond girl is quite impressed with Akshay’s kissing skills and is adamant no man in Bollywood can match him.

"Akshay was so down to earth and very genuine. He made me feel very comfortable, plus he’s a good kisser! I can see why he’s India’s sexiest actor!" said Denise.

She also admitted she struggled with the language barrier while filming her first Bollywood movie - but got a helping hand from her co-stars.

Akshay-Kareena walk with Sylvester Stallone at Cannes

Akshay Kumar and Kareena Kapoor are all set to walk the red carpet with Sylvester Stallone at the Cannes Film Festival starting May 13. The Hollywood action star makes a guest appearance.

Stallone has been making inquiries about the release of the film. When informed of producer Sajid Nadiadwala's Cannes plan, he agreed as he is said to be extremely fond of both Akshaya and Kareena.

Brandon Routh and Denise Richards also make guest appearances in the movie, which is expected to hit the screens soon.

Hera Pheri team to be seen together for De Dhana Dhan

The entire team of Hera Pheri - Akshay Kumar, Sunil Shetty, Paresh Rawal and Priyadarshan have shot together for the first time in nine years for De Dhana Dhan.

An emotional Priyadarshan decided to dedicate an entire day only to the team of Hera Pheri and not shoot with the rest of the cast present at the location.

Director Priyadarshan, who was not a part of Hera Pheri's sequel says De Dhana Dhan is a comic caper with a feel of the original. De Dhana Dhan also sees Katrina Kaif back with Akshay Kumar after Singh Is Kinng.

Vipul Shah flick legally threatened by Warner Bros.

There are several Bollywood Music that is been copied from the west but the trend seems to have reached a full stop. Warner Brothers has issued a legal notice against Bollywood produced Vipul Shah.

The rumours are that Vipul Shah is making a film,and he has neither seeked for Warner Brother’s Permission nor got in touch with Warner Brothers. When the Warner Brothers came to know the detils they decided to take strict action.

The target was easily recognized as Vipul Shah, who had announced Akshay Kumar starrer ‘Action Replay’. Buzz has it that the film was on the lines of Benjamin Button. However, Vipul denies the claims.

He said, “My film is called ‘Action Replay’. It’s based on a play I wrote 14 years ago, no, 15, actually, in ’94. It was registered with the Censor Board of India, and was staged too. More than 200 shows have been staged. And my film does not have a single scene similar to the Brad Pitt-starrer.” About the notice, Vipul said, “No one has spoken to me in this regard.”

Defending his film, Vipul declared, “If I’m guilty, I’m willing to undergo legal punishment. But if they prove the similarity, I would first like to sue them, because their film would then be a remake of my original registered script and play.”

Akshay Kumar-Aishwarya Rai receive Padma Shri

31st March 2009 – A red Letter Day for Akshay Kumar and Aishwarya Rai Bachchan . After all, it's the day when the Khiladi – Akshay Kumar and the former Miss World – Aishwarya Rai Bachchan received the highest civilian honor- The Padma Shri.

While Akshay was drapped in a formal black suit, Ash sizzled in her rose coloured saree. The event took place in New Delhi. Abhishek Bachchan was also present for this wonderful occation to share the moment. As for Akshay this is one honour which he would cherish for the rest of his life.

Interestingly, the two Padma Shri recipients Akshay and Ash is soon to be seen sharing the screen in Vipul Shah's film Action Replay.

Akshay Kumar in trouble for raunchy act at Lakme Fashion Week 09

Bollywood actor Akshay Kumar has just landed himself in trouble with his vulgar act of unbuttoning at the recent Lakme Fashion Week. Mumbai Police has registered a complaint against Akshay and his wife Twinkle for the shameful show on the ramp of Lakme Fashion Week 2009 which is watched nationwide.

Akshay was walking the ramp for designer Tarun Tahiliani on Monday. He turned towards his wife Twinkle Khanna, seated in the front row and apparently asked her to unbutton his jeans, which she did.

"We are conducting an inquiry into Akshay Kumar`s alleged obscene acts during Lakme Fashion Week held recently after we received a complaint from a person called Anil Nair," an officer said.

Meanwhile, the actor denied the objections justifying that he did not get it done by a model.

Akshay Kumar calls Kareena Kapoor a bitch

Bollywood is known for love controversies just around the release dates of movies. This time it is Sajid Nadiadwala’s ‘Kambakht Ishq’ whish is feeling the heat.

Even before its release the film has run into trouble with the Censor Board. A still from ‘Kambakht Ishq’ has become the talk of the town. The still in question is a promo of ‘Kambakhat Ishq’ where Kareena Kapoor calls Akshay Kumar a dog and Akshay in calling her a bitch.


Apart from this scene, there is also a line mouthed by Akshay which goes like this - “Women are good only for one thing”.

Women organisations have conveyed their protest against the same, indicating that the statements put women in bad light.

Kylie Minogue is not only shaking a leg for the bollywood movie Blue, but she has also fallen in love with all things Indian including Bollywood and the sari.

Akshay has been playing Kylie Minogue's unofficial host in Mumbai and Kylie is a huge Akshay Kumar fan.

Acoording to a source, "It started when Kylie watched Chandni Chowk To China. She was completely hooked to Akshay's antics. In fact one of her main reasons for accepting Blue was the opportunity to meet up with Akshay. When she decided to do the film and the date for her arrival was confirmed she made discreet inquiries about Akshay's schedules and his availability. She also wanted to go through the full India experience, including the khana, a wedding and of course the Taj Mahal and Jaipur -Rajashthan route."

Confirming Kylie's Akshay-centric attitude to Bollywood, the film's director Anthony D'Souza says, “Kylie is a big Bollywood buff. She has done her homework. She has seen lots of our movies. And she's a huge Akshay fan. She's seen lots of his films. I think she was at the premiere of Chandni Chowk To China in London. The comfort level between them comes from the fact that Kylie knows Akshay's work”.

She's also able to match steps with her Bollywood co-stars. Says Tony, “She gets the nuances perfectly correct. And she's very intelligent. I've shot with her for a week and I'm bowled over by her professionalism. And she's a fantastic performer”.

Kylie has no Hindi dialogues in Blue. But apparently she gets into a sari for a part of her song.

Padma Shri Aishwarya Rai Bachchan

January 26th brought another feather to bollywood diva Aishwarya Rai’s hat. This actress has been conferred the prestigious Padma Shri Award this year and the actress can’t help but feel honored.

“I am very thankful for the privilege. I am humbled by it. I thank the high officers of our country because this has been accorded to me by them and our fellow people. I hope to be able to live up to the promise of it. I am very grateful and will continue doing my best”, these were the words from the actress after receiving the honour.

Father-in-law and the rest of thefamily is equally elated at this achievement of Aishwarya Rai. “Aishwarya’s Padma decoration is the fifth in the family. My father received Padmabhushan, myself with (two) Padmashri and Padmabhushan and Jaya was receipient of Padmashri. Five Padma awardees in one family. Deepika sells on tele-shopping media in Chandni Chowk To China

One of the most awaited releases this year is the Akshay Kumar- Deepika Padukone starrer Chandni Chowk To China which hits the screen on Jan 16. The film is Bollywood's first Kung-Fu comedy with some mind blowing action scenes shot. While Akshay plays a chef Deepika Padukone would be seen in a double role once again after Om Shanti Om. While one of her characters is called Sakhi, she is also known as Miss TSM (Tele Shoppers Media) in the film.

Deepika would be seen endorsing many different TSM products and gadgets in the film. Some of these gadgets are funky and created for the film out of crazy ideas. Akshay plays a chef in Delhi's Chandni Chowk area, whose destiny brings him to China while Deepika Padukone plays double role once again after Om Shanti Om.

Chandni Chowk To China - to be released in China

Hindi films are going global and when you've a Hollywood studio backing your project, you can't think small. Warner Bros., the presenters of Chandni Chowk To China, are ensuring that the much-awaited film gets an extensive release. While the film will have a wide release in India as also in the international markets, there's talk that Warner is attempting to release the film simultaneously in China.

Of course, the decision in such cases has to be taken by the head office in Los Angeles, but if Chandni Chowk To China does see a simultaneous release in China, it would pave the way for more Hindi films to follow suit.

Nikhil Advani to shoot Chandni Chowk To China in Bangkok

After a major part of the shooting, the director Nikhil Advani and his entire crew had to hastily leave China and look for an alternative place to shoot the rest of the film. If New York is being shot in Philadelphia Chandni Chowk To China has been shot in Bangkok. And with good reason.

Says Nikhil, "It was the year of the Olympics in China and it became impossible beyond a point to shoot in the country where our film is based. Maybe a quieter less flamboyant film…but not the kind of action that Akshay has shot."

Apparently, the Olympics authorities found Akshay Kumar's athletic exertions to be a bit of an intrusion in the preparations for the grand international event. Says Nikhil, "Bangkok's topography is quite similar to China. Also, it's a very Bollywood-friendly country. So we just had to let go of the real country. Because the action scenes required Olympian skills and infrastructure."

Akshay Kumar had to battle it out with globally-known actors like Gordon Lieu who was in The 36th Chamber Of Shaolin and Roger Yuan, the main baddie in the Jackie Chan starrer Shanghai Noon.

Says Nikhil, "Gordon Lieu is a well-known name in Hollywood and Roger Yuan is the only Asian actor who works out of Bollywood. They both play arch-villains. Then I've a cast of actors who are stalwarts in China. They held on their own against Akshay, even when they were taken out of their home ground and put into Bangkok masquerading as China."

Incidentally, apart from Akshay, Mithun Chakraborty who was also quite an action star during his heydays has been given to do stunts in Chandni Chowk To China. Says Nikhil, "Mithunda will kick some ass too. Action is the backbone of my film. While other films have item songs Chandni Chowk To China has item-action. It's the action scenes that move the plot forward. The songs are extremely situational. I'm very lucky. I got Bappi Lahiri to re-do his 'Bambai Se Aaya Mera Dost'. I think the music is a decent follow-up to my Salaam-e-Ishq."
