Beyonce Knowles to dress appropriately

Pop diva Beyonce Knowles has announced that she will wear "appropriate" clothing for her show in Malaysia after Islamic extremists threatened to protest at the concert.

The “Crazy in Love” singer’s scheduled concert in the country’s capital Kuala Lumpur on October 25 has been met with anger by extremists, who claim her revealing outfits and provocative stage routines are "immoral" and will corrupt young people.

But the 28-year-old star, who had to pull out of a concert in the country two years ago, has agreed to tone down her performance, meaning the concert can go ahead.

Show organiser Marctensia said all parties had reached an "amicable understanding".

"We are confident that the concert will once and for all silence international critics and put Malaysia back on track in presenting A-list international pop concerts in this region," said a spokesperson.

Earlier in August 2007, ‘No Doubt’ star Gwen Stefani was told to cover up for her Malaysian concert.

The flamboyant star wore "sober" outfits but called it a "major sacrifice". She put jackets over her tops and leotards underneath her skirts and dresses, to conform to the guidelines for the show.

Beyonce Knowles to attend Grammy Awards despite writers' strike

Beyonce Knowles has declared her support for the Grammy Awards after confirming that she'll perform at the event even if striking writers boycott the ceremony.

The former Destiny's Child singer will join the Foo Fighters, who announced earlier this week that they'd cross picket lines to perform at the Grammys on 10 February.

Event organisers are resolute the show will go on as scheduled, regardless of the threat of protest from the striking writers, reports Contactmusic.

Writers Guild of America (WGA) union members insisted the Los Angeles music ceremony was "unlikely" to receive a waiver, halting potential picket action, earlier this week.

Justin Timberlake, 50 Cent and Jon Bon Jovi have are said to have pledged their loyalty to the WGA members, who have been on strike since November (07) over new media royalties.
