Asin - The next Bombshell of Bollywood

The race for the top slot among the heroines seems to be hotting. A few monthes ago, seemed to Katrina Kaif was way ahead of others. But after Fashion and Dostana happened and Priyanka Chopra came back in reckoning.

And now with the release of Ghajini around the corner, Asin, seems to be tipped to be the next big thing that has happened to Hindi cinema. Even before the release of Ghajini, the actress has already been signed on by Vipul Shah for his London Dreams where she is paired opposite Salman Khan and Ajay Devgan.

It's says quite a lot for the actress, who has already made waves without a single release whatsoever. She has already started acting like a B town heroine she is believed to have sat through the entire shooting of a song which was being picturised on Ghajini's second heroine, Jiah Khan.

But reports of her having endeared herself to all her co stars, the actress seems set to go places. She has a lot of competition on her hands right now. It's just a matter of a few days before Asin's fate will actually be decided. Once Ghajini hits the theatres, all speculations will be dispelled and facts will be revealed.

Jiya Scared but Aamir Insists

Being the perfectionist that Aamir Khan is, he refused to relent when Jiah Khan developed cold feet while shooting a scene in A R Murgadoss's Ghajini that required her to ride a scooter with him as the pillion.

Poor Jiah had never even sat a scooter before and was extremely jittery. However, Aamir reassured her and made her understand that it was important to show her riding the scooter for the particular sequence.

Said a source from the Mumbai hospital where Ghajini was being shot, “Jiah was supposed to ride a scooter with Aamir as the pillion. She had never ridden a scooter before but Aamir made sure she learnt it for the particular scene.”

But, despite Aamir trying to make her comfortable with the idea, she grew very edgy during the shot and refused to do it.

Added the source, “She learnt to ride the scooter but when it came to doing the scene with Aamir, she panicked and absolutely refused to ride the scooter.”

Despite Jiah being scared that she would cause an accident, Aamir refused to shoot it otherwise. He sat down with her and said that he would take care of it if any went wrong. The source said, “On seeing Jiah so scared with the idea of riding the scooter, Aamir sat down and made her understand that nothing will go wrong."

Finally, Jiah shot the scene after much convincing from Aamir Khan.

Jiya to star along side Aamir in Gajini

Young actress Jiah Khan, who after 'Nishabd' had virtually gone underground, will resurface with Aamir Khan in the Hindi remake of the Tamil film 'Gajini'.

'It's not that,' said Jiah, who was born in New York and raised in London. 'I was looking at several offers. I chose what I liked best,' Jiah told IANS.

Several names, including Priyanka Chopra and Kangana Ranaut, had been tossed around for the part of Aamir's leading lady in the second-half.

Beyond confirming her presence in 'Gajini', Jiah is afraid to say anything more for fear of being dropped from the project.

One may recall that Kangana had been considered for the part but was apparently eliminated after the news leaked out.

In this story of an amnesiac man's hunt for his fiancee's killer, inspired by Christopher Nolan's thriller 'Memento', the original Tamil film's leading lady Asin has been signed opposite Aamir Khan in the first half.

And why isn't Jiah doing any more films with her mentor Ram Gopal Varma?

'Why don't you ask him that?' she shot back. 'Maybe he doesn't have anything that suits me. We haven't fallen out or anything. We connected just two weeks ago.'
