Priyanka Chopra to shake a leg with Shah Rukh Khan in Billoo Barber

After Deepika Padukone and Kareena Kapoor, Priyanka Chopra has been chosen as the third heroine to make a special appearance in Priyadarshan's 'Billoo Barber' and shake a leg with Shah Rukh Khan. And Priyadarshan says it was a cakewalk for the superstar to get the leading ladies to do a cameo in his comedy.

'Since Shah Rukh plays a filmstar in the movie, I needed him to do some big glamorous song and dance numbers with some top heroines. I left the choice to Shah Rukh. I knew all he had to do was to pick up the phone and ask any of his leading ladies,' says Priyadarshan.

According to sources, it was a tie between Rani Mukerji and Priyanka for the third item song with Shah Rukh Khan in 'Billoo Barber'. 'But after Rani appeared on Salman Khan's game show 'Dus Ka Dum' and knowing there's no love lost between Salman and Priyanka, the scales tilted automatically towards Priyanka,' an industry source said.

Though King Khan has done item numbers earlier in 'Shakti', 'Kaal' and 'Krazzy 4', this would be Priyanka's first item number. The song with Kareena was shot at the very start of the shooting. 'At this very moment, I'm shooting a second item song with Deepika and Shah Rukh. That's again a very catchy number and Shah Rukh is having a ball shooting with Deepika,' Priyadarshan said.

Interestingly, the director was supposed to launch Deepika two years ago in a film called 'Pirate'. 'But that didn't work out. She made her debut with Shah Rukh Om Shanti Om. Now she's working with him again. And I also got a chance to work with her. Don't ask who's the lucky one,' he quipped.

Inspired by the story of Lord Krishna and his childhood friend Sudama, a poor Brahmin, 'Billoo Barber' tells the tale of a superstar and his pal Billoo (Irrfan Khan), who is a barber by profession.

SRK Back to his field after IPL

Actor Shah Rukh Khan is back shooting for films. In fact while he was busy at the IPL, SRK used to shoot for Priyadarshan's Billoo Barber , too. With just one schedule remaining, we guess the makers of this one are keeping a rather low profile.

It was not very long ago that the shooting schedule of this film was to take place in a village. Shah Rukh who plays a simple, aam aadmi in this movie, had no choice but to travel with the cast and crew to a village in North India – where Viraasat was shot.

Apparently, sources close to us say that the one thing SRK hates is shooting in a village. After all, the actor is used to the lavish luxuries of life, and the close-to-no-facility areas provide much discomfort to him. A unit member informs us, "I don't know much about his likes and dislikes, but Shah Rukh is a sport. He adapted ok and didn't as much as complain even once. He was ready to do whatever it took for him to deliver! Also, he mingled well with one and all and didn't have any prolems. He went out of the way to make the locals there feel special."

Well, here's to the professional, who has returned to the luxuries of his home!

Deepika Padukone and Kareena Kapoor to do an item number for Billoo Barber

Priyadarshan's forthcoming film Billoo Barber has been in the news ever since it was announced, as this is the first time that the talented director is working with the 'Baadshah of Bollywood', Shah Rukh Khan. The film which stars Irrfan Khan in the lead role is a story of friendship between a poor villager and a big star and is completely different from Priyan's usual comic fares.

The latest buzz doing the rounds is that the film will have an item number featuring none other than the gorgeous Kareena Kapoor and the super-hot Deepika Padukone along with King Khan. While Kareena has already shot for the number, it is believed that Deepika would be shooting her part later this month.

When Kareena last grooved with Shah Rukh in Don, the song went on to become a chartbuster. As for Deepika, her pairing with SRK in Om Shanti Om also re-wrote the box-office history. So will the same magic be created this time too?
