Cheryl Cole is “The TV Personality of the Year”

Singer Cheryl Cole has won the television personality of the year gong in Glamour magazine's Women of the Year awards.

The awards are voted by the magazine’s readers and recognize the achievements of women in film, television and music, theatre, business and literature.

Former EastEnders star Michelle Ryan won UK actress of the year gong. Adele was named UK solo artist of the year, while R‘n’B singer Estelle won the editor`s special award. Katy Perry was declared Best Newcomer of the Year.

Katy Perry Kylie Minogue shine at Glamour Women of the Year Awards

American singer Katy Perry and Australian pop star Kylie Minogue bagged major honours at the Glamour Women of The Year Awards.

Perry picked up the newcomer of the year prize, while Minogue received the entrepreneur of the year and woman of the year trophy at the ceremony held in London.

British pop band Girls Aloud also enjoyed a double win. They were named band of the year, and singer Cheryl Cole was awarded the TV personality of the year title for her stint as a judge of British talent show "The X Factor".
