This is the first time that the Swiss watch brand has chosen an Indian ambassador and underlines the importance that Tissot places on this dynamic international market. Deepika is one of Indians most sought-after actresses and an international model.
The Swiss company has also launched its limited edition MotoGP watch edition priced at Rs 36,800. It would sell 7,002 units of its limited edition watch, Tissot said in a statement.
"We are delighted to welcome Deepika Padukone in the Tissot family. This underlines the importance that Tissot places on this dynamic market," Tissot SA President Francois Thiebaud said in the statement in New Delhi.
The association will make Padukone the ‘Face of Tissot’ worldwide. Announcing the association, Francois Thiebaud, President, Tissot SA, said: “Deepika is multi-talented, dynamic and always open to new ideas.”
Thus the hottest debutante of the year becomes the “face of the new generation” in India and the “Face of Tissot” worldwide on December 13.
On being asked what tagline Deepika thought was most appropriate for the brand, she quipped, “Keep Ticking!”
Recently, Levis Strauss India had also roped in Deepika as national brand ambassador for its brand Levi Strauss Signature.
